Josh Smead

Indivisible Kansas City is proud to endorse Josh Smead in his electoral bid for the 4th Congressional District of Missouri.

Indivisible Kansas City is excited to endorse Josh Smead to be the next Congressman for Missouri’s 6th Congressional District. Josh will be an advocate for all northern Missourians: rural, urban, and everyone in between. He will stand up to the current Administration and hold them accountable to our laws. He will help to restore Congress’ rightful place in our system of government.

IKC would especially like to recognize Josh’s leadership in three key areas: support for personal freedoms, advocacy for rural communication infrastructure, and opposition to the War in Iran.

On personal freedoms, we couldn’t have said it any better ourselves, so we won’t. Josh said, “Everyone deserves to live freely and equally — no exceptions. I believe in a government that protects rights, not one that polices personal lives. Who someone loves or how they identify is none of the government’s business, and it certainly shouldn’t be a political weapon. I will always stand for equal protection under the law, and against any attempt to use power to divide, discriminate, or interfere in people’s private lives.” Spot on, Josh.

Second, Josh is absolutely correct about the importance of robust communication infrastructure in Rural America. In order to participate equally in the democratic process, people must have access to modern, low-cost infrastructure. This includes rural broadband, but also the survival of a viable US Postal Service. Josh shines a light on this critical asset that has gone overlooked by too many politicians.

Finally, on this dumb Iran War, Josh said plain and simple, “We should not be at war with Iran.” He is right. War with Iran was never going to bring about peace and freedom for the Iranian people, an end to Iran’s extremist regime, or an end to its nuclear ambitions. Instead, it has brought the deaths of at least 18 American service members and thousands of Iranian citizens (as well as many others in the region), global trade instability, and higher gasoline and diesel prices here at home.
